Listed in Carnival of Personal Finance #146 – Online Broker Tips Edition

Our article, “The Art of Haggling,” has been listed in the Carnival of Personal Finance #146 – Online Broker Tips Edition at StockTradingToGo.com. This is a long Carnival with lots of great links.

I enjoyed reading You Can’t Spend Earnings by 4Life at Dividends4Life. He points out that a company cannot fake dividend payments the way that earnings in an company statement can be. Also under the heading of Investing, there is an interesting article from The Dividend Guy titled, “Pension Fund Asset Allocations You Can Use.” I am at the point where I am not willing to take on the risks I did last decade. The Dividend Guy looks at the asset allocation of a pension plans of companies in the S&P 500 and makes an interesting discovery. You will have to read his post to see what that is.

I enjoyed reading how Dawn at Frugal For Life would have to budget if she were to retire on only Social Security benefits, in Future Social Security Estimates. Squawkfox has a great post titled, “Toastmasters is Torture! So why do it?” I also have a hard time speaking in public, but it is one of those things that I have to do for my job. Squawkfox’ post points out how Toastmasters can really help in professional advancement as well as personal growth.

Greener Pastures, Personal Finance gives us a slap in the face with some statistics on the National Debt in The Dope on National Debt. The irresponsibility of the “people in charge” always makes me mad. Frugal Money Man also gives an eye opener in Friend’s IRS Audit, where he talks about the need to prove to the IRS during a tax audit where deposits into a regular bank account came from. I don’t think I have proof for all of our deposits.

Topics in the Carnival are Investing, Saving, Budgeting, Career, Real Estate, Frugality, Debt, Taxes, Credit, Money Management, and Finance. This Carnival is huge! Please check it out.
