Listed in the Festival of Frugality – Tax Day Edition!
Our article, Free Is Almost Never Free, was listed in the Festival of Frugality – Tax Day Edition!
I may have said it before, but at the risk of repeating myself, I really like the posts in the Festival of Frugality.
I go along with most of Kyle’s “Editor’s Picks” in the festival as being worthy of a read.
My favorites are
- How to Develop a Frugal Mindset, where RC talks about things that I was brought up to believe.
- Frugality and Luck, where Catherine talks about having the appearance of financial luck through sacrifice.
- If You Don’t Need It, It’s Not a Great Deal, where Joe D. has a post that is similar to my Free Is Almost Never Free and Avoiding Impulse Buys posts. He also points out that we need to let go of our pride in finding a great deal. If we don’t need a particular “thing,” why are we even trying to make a deal on it? The current “thing” he is thinking of dealing for, though, is a bit ridiculous given his current situation. You will have to read his post to find out what that is.
- How to Successfully Navigate Your Way through Home Renovations: 10 Practical Tips, where Dorian Wales has a post similar to my Hiring Contractors, but his list is more thorough.
This just scratches the surface of the Festival. You should really check it out.
