Our post, Yet Another Person Falls for the Nigerian Email Scam, was listed in the Carnival of Personal Finance #179 – Smile Edition. Some of the posts in the carnival that I liked were
- 5 Recession-Proof Ways to Get Hired at Just Thrive, offers some good tips for finding work that will help in both these trying times as well as in “good” times.
- What to do When There is Less Money Than You Need at American Consumer News. Luckily, our family does not need any of these tips, but they are good ones for people in need.
- Retiring Early in Turbulent Times at My Wealth Builder. This is a candid discussion of how things are going financially for Super Saver over the past year in the first year of early retirement.
Our post, HSA May Be Used to Pay Orthodontist, was listed in the festival of frugality #152: affected by recession edition. Some good frugal posts were
- Turn Frugal Behaviors into a Game at Passive Family Income talks about ways to tap into your competitive self to help find bargains, save, and be frugal.
- 10 Fun and Quirky Ways to Save Money at Art of the Coupon.com extends the competition to be frugal.
- Cheap and Easy Entertainment posted at The Attached Parent gives some ideas of ways to keep your children and yourself entertained for little or no money. Our post, No Gift Cards, Please!, was listed in the Money Hacks Carnival #39. Some of the hacks I’d like to highlight,
- 100 Everyday Habits for Your Health and Wealth at Medical Coding Training Online. All I can say is, “Wow!” I would not call this post a money hack, but it is 100 hacks having to do with well being, some of which are financial. Best post I have seen in a while!
- Money: What Steps I Have Taken to Save It at LimitlessUnits.com gives some good money saving tips and advice on living within your means.
- Finding Happiness in a Simple, Debt-Free Life at Happy to be at Home is a great post on cutting back on the “stuff.” She did not have too much stuff, but her hubby did, accompanied by lots of debt when she met him. I tend to pack rat stuff myself (never have gone into debt for it, though).
